Calbiga Caves
It is more formally called the Langun-Gobingob caves, and it is the most popular spelunking destination in Samar. The Calbiga Caves house the biggest cave system in the Philippines, and only the 2nd largest in Asia. Inside are chambers bigger than a basketball stadium and an underground that resembles the underworld. It is located in Brgy. Panayuran, Calbiga.
Lulugayan Falls and Rapids
With a branding of being the ‘Mini Niagara of the Philippines’, you can actually feel the otherworldliness of this location. Its waterfalls descend from a height of 30 meters and a width of 50 meters. You can swim there or just stay at the base of the waterfalls to bask in its beauty. It is also located in Calbiga, Samar.
Canjaway Nature Park
The scenery of the Canjaway Nature Park can provide a soothing effect for the city dwellers who seek relaxation in their trip. Located at Canjaway, Borongan, this nature park will whisk you away from all your stressors and comfort you with its beauty. The perfect scenery it boasts has a clear blue sky, tall rocks, and pristine blue water. Not a lot of people know it, but it has a lot of regulars.
Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park
Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge National Park spans 841 hectares of protected area. It is one of the best ecotourism destinations in Region 8, featuring natural wonders such as caves, subterranean rivers, waterfalls, limestone formations, and a natural stone bridge while all surrounded by a lush forest.
Pinipisakan Falls
This hidden paradise features a gorgeous 4-tier waterfall surrounded by green trees, wild ferns, and mossy rocks that screams picturesque. When you’re in Samar, you can’t pass up a visit here because it’s considered as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Philippines. It is in Barangay Bai-ang, San Jorge.
